What is Shop in Ottawa’s goal?

Our goal is to connect the residents of Ottawa to local businesses who sell consumer and deliverable goods. There are fantastic shops right in your neighbourhood that are great alternatives to Amazon or other big box stores.

Why local businesses?

Local businesses are what give our city life. They help stabilize the economy, create jobs for local residents, and are the ones who are sponsoring local events. When was the last time you saw Amazon or Walmart sponsoring an events for your kids or friends.

What kind of businesses are here?

We are looking to create a directory of local businesses that sell consumer goods and are accessible by everyone through delivery. This typically means businesses like, but are not limited to: retail, bakeries, grocery, alcohol, prepared food, and florists. Places that sell both everyday items or items that are great for gifts.

Ottawa has great crafters, makers, and artisans who make fantastic products, we’re just trying to give them a little more light.

How I get my business in the directory?

Simply fill our the form on our submit a business page, we’ll review the details and then add it to the directory.
